Important Update on Insurance Coverage

Beginning October 1, 2025, I will no longer be accepting insurance for new clients. I will continue to accept Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) payments, as well as assist with out of network claims.

This decision has not been made lightly. Over the years, I’ve seen how insurance requirements often disrupt the therapeutic process:

  • Privacy Concerns: Insurance companies frequently require detailed personal information to authorize services. I believe your therapy should remain private between us.

  • Unreliable Approvals & Payments: Too often, insurance coverage is inconsistent, leading to unexpected denials or delays. These create unnecessary stress for both clients and providers.

By stepping away from insurance for new clients, I can offer care that is more reliable, more private, and fully focused on your needs.

What This Means for Current Clients

  • If you are currently using insurance, I will continue to honor your coverage through the end of 2025.

  • If affordability becomes a concern, I am committed to working with you. Options include sliding scale rates, therapeutic groups, out-of-network documentation, and a limited number of pro bono or deeply discounted sessions.

  • I will continue to accept Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) payments.

  • For those with insurance that allows out-of-network claims, I will provide detailed documentation (superbills) so you can submit for possible reimbursement.

FAQ

Will you still accept my insurance?
Yes. If you are already a client using insurance, I will honor your coverage through the end of 2025.

What about new clients?
Beginning October 1, 2025, I will not be accepting insurance for new clients.

Why are you making this change?

  • To protect your privacy by reducing unnecessary sharing of personal details.

  • To ensure reliability, since insurance approvals and payments are often inconsistent.

What if I can’t afford full-fee sessions?
I offer several options to make therapy accessible:

  • Sliding scale fees based on need

  • Therapeutic groups (often as effective—or even more effective—than individual sessions, with the added benefit of peer support and shared insight)

  • Out-of-network reimbursement documentation (superbills) so you can submit to your insurance if your plan allows it

  • HSA/FSA payments accepted

  • Pro bono or deeply discounted sessions available on a limited, case-by-case basis

How does this benefit me as a client?
Without insurance restrictions, your therapy can remain more private, more consistent, and fully tailored to your goals rather than outside approvals.

Looking Ahead

This change allows me to focus on what matters most: providing therapy that is consistent, creative, and truly client-centered. I remain committed to offering high-quality care and to making sure services stay accessible to those who need them.
