Adult ADHD Therapy Group – Frequently Asked Questions

What is this group, and who is it for?
This is a six-week, therapist-led therapy group for adults navigating life with ADHD. Whether you’ve been formally diagnosed, are newly exploring the possibility, or just feel like your brain works a little differently — you’re welcome here. Each week, we’ll tackle real-life challenges like relationships, impulsivity, finances, boredom, RSD (Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria), and Imposter Syndrome.

Is this a support group or a therapy group?
This is a therapy group — meaning it’s facilitated by a licensed therapist (Joey Schnople, LCMHC), and sessions include structured themes, practical strategies, and intentional sharing. It’s a safe place to learn about yourself, connect with others, and try out new ways of thinking and responding.

How many people will be in the group?
The group is limited to 8 participants, ensuring everyone has space to participate and be heard. The vibe is personal, not overwhelming.

When and where does it meet?
We’ll meet Tuesdays from 6:00 to 7:30 PM, from May 26 to June 30, 2025, in person at my office in Davidson, NC.

What’s the cost?
The total cost is $495 per person for the six-week series. This is a one-time fee and includes all materials. Payment plans are available upon request.

Will my insurance cover this?
This group is a flat-fee, self-pay offering and is not billed through insurance. However, I’m happy to provide a receipt that you can submit to your insurer for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

What if I miss a session?
We understand that life happens. If you miss a session, you’ll still receive any handouts or worksheets from that week, and we’ll briefly check in to keep you on track. However, there are no make-up sessions or partial refunds.

I’ve never done group therapy before — what if I’m nervous?
That’s completely normal. Many people feel unsure about sharing in a group at first. This group is designed to be warm, respectful, and low-pressure. You’ll never be forced to speak — but most folks find it helpful to know they’re not the only one dealing with these challenges. You may be surprised how quickly connections form.

How do I know if I’m a good fit?
If you’re an adult (18+) who experiences challenges related to focus, impulsivity, follow-through, emotional intensity, or overthinking — and you’re open to learning and growing in a group setting — you’re likely a great fit. You don’t need to have a formal ADHD diagnosis to participate.

How do I sign up?
Click the [registration link] or reach out directly via email at joey@joeyschnople.com or phone at (980) 368-5014. A brief phone consultation is required before enrollment to ensure the group is a good fit for your goals and needs.

Is this group inclusive?
Absolutely. Neurodivergent experiences are diverse, and so are the people who have them. All genders, backgrounds, and belief systems are welcome here.
